Petit St. Vincent – Luxury Resort
With rave reviews and repeat guests year after year, this 113-acre island, surrounded by white sand beaches and crystal blue water, is truly a hidden treasure.
Just south of St. Vincent in the Grenadines, you’ll find Petit St. Vincent. This unique vacation destination is so exciting that I had to experience it myself.
How do you get there?
Getting to PSV is an adventure in itself. Your trip starts in Barbados, your first stop on your way to this small island. From here, you take a flight on Mustique Airways to Union Island. The journey continues as you sail with Captain Maurice and his crew across ocean waters. In just twenty minutes, you arrive on PSV and begin to enjoy this extraordinary island paradise.
Once you arrive, you will be personally escorted to one of the 22 secluded and strategically located cottages on the island via mini moke, the only mode of transportation. Whether your cottage is situated on the beach or nestled in the hills, you can be sure that you will have complete privacy, not to mention a spectacular view.
What to expect?
A perfect place for couples or honeymooners, no better destination can be found for a romantic getaway. Petit St. Vincent allows you to escape from everyday stressors and enjoy each moment with your special someone, without interruption. PSV is also a great spot for families, and it isn’t uncommon to find the entire island booked by people who want it all to themselves. Even members of the famous musical band U2 reserved the whole island for their friends and families.
PSV is one of a kind. It is free of telephones, TVs and even room keys! Communication takes the form of a simple flag system. All you do is put up the yellow flag when you require something; the red flag goes up when you do not want to be disturbed. Another feature of this unique vacation spot is its untouched nature, which adds even greater tranquility to your stay.
World Class Cuisine
When you ask a traveler what they consider the most important aspect of a great resort, good food is always at the top of the list. From the delectable Caribbean-style Callaloo Soup to the delicious Pan-seared King Fish, good food is something you never need to worry about in PSV. Daily, enjoy the finest imported meats and succulent fish, as well as fresh vegetables from organic gardens.
No matter how long your stay, you can count on new menu items each day that will leave your taste buds wanting more. Don’t miss the pineapple crepes with coconut ice cream!
If you don’t feel like leaving your cottage, there’s no need to worry. The staff in PSV will bring any – or every – meal to your doorstep.
What is there to do?
If you’re like me, lying on my own private beach area is the perfect vacation, but the more adventurous can enjoy a wide range of fun activities, such as snorkelling, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, water skiing and fishing. If you want to get a real sense of island living, board the Jambalaya (a hand-made schooner) and explore the neighbouring islands. Jump aboard the Jahash for deep-sea fishing or visit the surrounding deserted islands.
At the end of a full day of activity, there’s no better way to relax than with a soothing massage. Book an appointment with Lisa and let her melt your worries away with her magical technique. Lisa uses a number of approaches to address your needs, such as reiki, reflexology and deep-tissue massage. Best of all, you can receive your massage right in your room. Don’t forget the open-air pavilion, where yoga classes can help tone your body and nurture your emotional health and general well-being.
If you’re looking for time away with luxurious accommodations, friendly, attentive staff, delicious food, gorgeous scenery and perfect weather, Petit St. Vincent is the place for you.
