Marina Inn at Grand Dunes: The Ultimate Holiday
If you are looking for a place that will cater to your every whim – one that seems like it was designed with you in mind, then you should head straight for the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach.
Imagine this: You step out onto the large terrace of your spacious three-bedroom suite to enjoy glorious views of the marina and surrounding beauty. This is just the beginning of the wonderful experience waiting for you at the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes. The area surrounding the Marina Inn is an affluent, comfortable neighbourhood that makes you feel like you are part of the community and not just visiting a tourist area. “It is important to us that you feel like this is your home while you are here,” says director of sales and marketing Paul Brown, “not just the place you have chosen to stay in during your time in Myrtle Beach.” Also, this fantastic complex feels quite private and exclusive while being very accessible by just about every mode of transportation imaginable, with the highways, waterways and international airport nearby.
A holiday experience can be made or broken by restaurants and dining. Even by the exceptional standards set by the Marina Inn, the dining awaiting you at any of the four restaurants is world-class. Waterscapes offers the artistry of Chef Michael Aragon. His menu features a diverse selection of American cuisine that is very inventive in terms of its flavours and presentation but also in terms of the simplicity of the dishes. He takes the ordinary and makes it special with his own distinct flare. What makes Waterscapes such a fantastic experience above and beyond the food is the setting. While dining, you will have a wonderful view of the 126-slip marina and the beautiful, calming infinity pool below. Reflections is more of a cocktail/tapas lounge that also affords patrons a splendid view of the marina. And what waterside hotel would be complete without a poolside grill? For casual fare like wraps, grilled burgers, salads and sandwiches, visit the Poolside Grill. You can enjoy the outdoors and the atmosphere in casual clothing or even in your bathing suit. The Anchor Café has the distinction of being the most desired and picturesque sunset vantage point in all of Myrtle Beach. This restaurant also offers a beautiful array of views of the Intracoastal Waterway while you dine on casual but sophisticated fare (pasta dishes, salads and burgers).
Myrtle Beach is also known for its fine golfing, and two fantastic courses are right here in Grande Dunes. The Grande Dunes Resort Course is a par 72 course created by the renowned golf course designer Roger Rulewich. It features several elevation changes and seven holes along the picturesque Intracoastal Waterway. Golf legend and PGA Hall of Famer Nick Price and celebrated architect Craig Schreiner designed the Members Club at Grande Dunes. This private members club sits starkly but beautifully amidst the area’s natural pine preserves and the Intracoastal Waterway.
If you love to stay active but golf isn’t for you, you will likely love the tennis club at Marina Inn. It has been hailed as a USA League Tennis Association Outstanding Facility by the USTA South Section. Training (when available) by USTA certified professionals and the lighted courts allow for many extra hours of playing.
For those who love to soak up the sun poolside, there is a fantastic pool that overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway. It is a perfect place for hours of relaxation and recreation. The Marina Inn also has an indoor pool for the more active swimmer, which comes complete with two jet system swim-in-place stations.
If you are planning to sail into the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes (as many patrons do), then you will be delighted to discover that the marina itself is one of the finest on the Eastern Seaboard. The marina features state of the art floating docks, a total of 126 wet slips, 18 transient slips and 1,200 linear feet of lay-along facing the dock that can accommodate vehicles up to 120 feet in length. Uniformed attendants greet you when you dock and treat you to the impressive level of personal service that you will come to expect from the Marina Inn.
The Marina Inn at Grande Dunes is also a perfect spot for company get-togethers or meetings. There are over 5,100 square feet of lavish function space that includes a 5,100-square-foot ballroom that can accommodate over 500 guests in luxury and comfort. And if you are looking for a place to stage the wedding of your dreams, the ballroom is an excellent choice, but there is also the 10,000-square-foot Grande Lawn that can be used for spectacularly picturesque celebrations.
If you are heading down to Myrtle Beach and are looking for a vacation spot that is virtually unmatched, then you owe it to yourself to check out the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes. Whether you are looking for a relaxing time in the sun, a water based vacation or a sports oriented, activity filled vacation, this spot will not disappoint. As Paul Brown says, “We try to treat you in such a way that has you planning your next stay with us before your first stay is even completed.”
