“Use what talent you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang best – Henry Van Dyke”
Talent and Passion
I have always been amazed at how many of us have a talent or passion for something, and yet – we do not possess the courage to move forth and share these gifts with the rest of the world. I call them gifts because I feel the reason we were given them is to share with others. Our gift to you, our reader, is our passion and relentless search for people, places, and keepsakes in every issue of Dolce. Our stories and photography will serve and aid in your quest to live la dolce vita.
How does one live the good life? My belief is that what makes life ever so sweet is the ability to live your life with purpose and have the courage to share your talent and passion with others. There is no greater freedom in this world. In fact, you might quickly realize this when reading our Success stories, and what a great bunch they are in this issue!
You can’t really pinpoint what makes up the charm of the individuals in this section. You would feel their presence as well if you were in their company. Perhaps it’s their palpable desire to go out there and make things happen – proving to the world that their purpose in life is to live a life of purpose.
Take cover man Nacho Figueras, the most famous face in polo. When he speaks about polo, you can feel his emotion and passion for the sport. When Nacho talks about how those who play or watch polo come to love it, the polo bug will bite you, too – even if you have yet to see him play.
You might have heard of Gil Blutrich, the investment tycoon who owns multi-million-dollar properties, but what you might not know is that this man is a romantic. He admires nature, poetry and arts, but most of all, he loves people. His purpose is to continue to create and inspire others to experience a more tranquil lifestyle.
Kevin Harrington is perhaps still part of those few good men that believe that when one hands out his business card he should expect to get a call. He answers every call he receives – which is something that is sadly becoming outdated in business these days. His purpose is to continue to affect millions of people with a single idea. All of these successful men know all too well the meaning of never giving up. Their courage stems from a realization within that burns with the conviction that they have something they can offer the world; thus having the courage to live a life of purpose.
These are but a few of the stories we bring to you.
We hope you enjoy our fall issue of Dolce. Keep reading and living la dolce vita.
