Smart-Tech
Lights that know your personal style and home security at the touch of a button is no longer something from a sci-fi movie. Smart-Tech showcases the newest evolution in in-home technology.
Technology is becoming ever more prominent in our everyday lives, yet it seems to elude in-home design. John Tersigni and his team at Smart-Tech are changing this, bringing a new evolution in home design. At Smart-Tech, custom home building means more than just your choice of brick, and home décor means more than just furnishings.
Tersigni, who began in the construction industry, took his love for building back to its roots and applied his innovative skills to the basic necessities of home electronics, thus providing better electronics for a better life-style. Ten years ago, Tersigni used his ideas, and with the help of Robert Mazzoli, created Smart-Tech, now an industry leader in home automation.
While speaking with us, Tersigni prepared for a trip to the Lutron head office in Pennsylvania for a four-day training session, one he makes several times a year to further his knowledge of new technologies in the industry. Lutron is the leading manufacturer of lighting controls worldwide and a distinguished contributor to Smart-Tech. His connections being with Lutron and other leading companies, he aligns his company with the best in the business.
Tersigni explains that lighting controls and whole-home control systems are going to be the next big feature in custom home electronics. “Lighting is how you can create ambiance in your home,” he says. “It relaxes and comforts.”
Create a lit path from your living room to your kitchen, or from your car to your front door. With security and style in mind, these lighting features truly accent your home. The new lighting systems conserve energy and provide a personalized atmosphere in every room.
Tersigni also explains the security features of such controlled lighting, detailing a scenario in which you might hear a bump in the night; simply press a button and your home will be lit for you to search safely or ward off any unwanted visitors.
Custom-building your home and creating the mood for each room is, Tersigni says, the most important and most exciting part. Smart-Tech provides endless possibilities in functionality and fashion, with services that include home theatres, whole-home music systems, motorized window coverings, home automation and HVAC control. Each system provides the convenience and comfort that everyone should have in their home.
As the world evolves, we see more technology being incorporated into every aspect of our lives, increasing the convenience, comfort and style that we all desire. But, as Tersigni points out, our homes have been left behind. “We need to develop and advance our homes, and these lighting and networking systems are the next big step,” he says.
One of Smart-Tech’s most notable credits is the company’s membership in CEDIA, the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association. CEDIA is an international trade association of companies that specialize in planning and installing electronic systems for the home. All members of CEDIA are qualified leaders in their industry, recognized for their quality of work and business operations. As a member, Smart-Tech displays its talent and superiority in the industry.
No project is too big or too small for Smart-Tech! Tersigni cites his current project, the 16,500-square foot home of the president of one of Ontario’s top builders. With such knowledgeable and recognized clients in the industry, Smart-Tech proves its quality of design and service, showing itself to be a leader in in-home design.
