“We have a copyrighted system called a ‘lifestyle analysis’ that we go through with every client,” says Shan Jenkins, president of the company. This lifestyle analysis enables Jenkins and his team to design a home that is perfectly tailored to each homeowner’s particular way of life. The design visionary spends about two hours with each new client, getting to know them and discussing layout options. Submerged in construction since he was just a child, Jenkins began assisting in his uncle’s roofing company when he was in the sixth grade. So, after earning a degree in construction science at Texas A&M, it came as no surprise when he was asked to take the reigns of his father’s company, Jenkins Custom Homes, in 1998. Since acquiring the company, Jenkins has been actively involved in the design, construction and selling of his projects, ensuring that no detail is overlooked.

It is these time constraints that Jenkins finds most challenging. “We have to deal with a lot of pressure in the industry,” he says. “I find that more and more, clients are expecting to see quicker results.”

But Jenkins isn’t discouraged by the stresses of the job. In fact, he challenges himself to constantly improve his style and rise above the competition. His ability to do so has kept him on top of the building game.
