Art Boulle: Worthy of a King’s Praise
In a quaint community just north of Toronto, a winding road cuts through lush greenery, giving way to the heart of artistic magnificence. The extraordinary gates of a luxurious estate gently swing open, welcoming you to listen to the sweet, soft whisper of a wind chime infusing the air with magic.
The expansive driveway carries you towards a beautiful front entrance fitted with caste aluminum and forged iron double-doors, embellished with grooves painstakingly crafted by the hands of skilled South American artists and elaborate dancing shadows.
You step into the grand foyer of the Art Boulle gallery showroom, and French classical touches and genuine masterworks carved from the finest materials unfold before your eyes, as you make your way into each divine space.
Thanks to Diego and Nancy Saavedra, the best of exclusive Ecuadorian craftsmanship is on display at Art Boulle, which is an expression of their love of history and passion for fine art. A company with Ecuadorian beginnings, Art Boulle was brought to Canada to serve its residents with objects beyond excellence.
“We found ourselves designing projects for our properties and for others in Ecuador. We wanted to bring a showroom to Canada because we knew our product would be unique here,” says Nancy, who courageously left Ecuador with her husband and children to make possible their dream of spreading Ecuadorian culture around the world, with an emphasis on maintaining the master techniques of artists past.
Inspired by the supreme works of Andre Charles Boulle, a 17th century artist to the crown of Louis XIV, Diego and Nancy ensure that their custom pieces are endowed with Boulle’s tradition of exceptional beauty. Diego says the ironwork masterpieces of eminent 20th century metal-smith Edgar Brandt have also heightened their creativity. “We create magical places of illusion and charm,” says Nancy.
Today, Art Boulle is a testimony of their hard work and dedication, as it serves its loyal Canadian and international clientele with glorious gates, extraordinary furnishings, spectacular staircases, distinctive doors, sensual sculptures and impressive ironworks. “When you acquire one of our products, you will be investing in a collectible,” promises Diego.
Renowned throughout the world, the Art Boulle collection has been well received at prestigious international home shows such as Index Dubai, Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, Las Vegas Fair Furniture Exhibition and the year-round showcase at Toronto’s Designers Walk. “Our product is of the highest level of quality, design and craftsmanship,” says Diego proudly.
Making known its limitless potential to design any style you desire, Art Boulle has wowed its elite clientele with pieces that stand the test of time.
“I have travelled all over the world, and I’ve never seen a product so amazing,” says Linda Kamiz, who had Art Boulle design and create three of her private residences in Israel, Jordan and the Dominic Republic. “They can design any style with references to any country, because they do a lot of research … They are beyond comparison,” she adds.
With Art Boulle’s creative team travelling to France to pick authentic fabrics found nowhere else, you’re guaranteed pieces that ooze luxury and splendour.
