A Theory Proven Time and Time Again
Imagine coming home from a long day and retreating to your very own theatre, where you can have the full experience of a large-scale cinema without ever leaving your home. Riveting surround sound pours through the speakers, lifelike figures pop off of the immaculate flat screen, and your chair moves along with the visuals as you lose yourself in the latest Hollywood blockbuster – all while your spouse is sleeping in the next room.
Thanks to the experts at Theory, this doesn’t have to be a fantasy. You can enjoy this level of entertainment, no matter your budget. “We take products that are present within the industry and we create practical solutions for our clients at all price points,” says Steven Stogrin, president of the company. Offering an extensive list of services including completely integrated home theatres, networking, home automation, multi-room audio, custom cabinetry, and whole-home audio and video distribution for both residential and commercial projects, Theory has everything you need to create the ultimate experience. The result is an affect that can completely take you out of your living room and transport you into a theatre.
“The thing that we do differently is that we’re not about the dollar,” says Stogrin. “All of our solutions are geared to what’s right for the customer and their room. We educate the consumer first about the technology involved, and then look at the best scenarios to achieve an optimal environment on their budget.” And since Theory works with you every step of the way, you can rest assured that you’ll love the final product.
Taking into account the many variables involved in creating a home theatre, Stogrin and his team decide which products and solutions will best suit your space, and customize a room that will complement your home’s décor, and your lifestyle. As Stogrin puts it, “you may already have some of the elements to complete a room, but we’re the ones who will assemble the puzzle for you, and fill in the missing pieces.”
It is this multi-faceted approach that inspired the company’s name. “The reason we went with Theory is because there’s a theory behind what we do,” explains Stogrin. “We don’t just sell products, we examine all of the details so that we can come up with the best possible solution.”
Having pursued careers in graphic design and construction before founding Theory, Stogrin was more than familiar with designing and building. “I’ve always had that passion to create things that didn’t already exist,” he says. And that’s exactly what he’s been doing for the past 10 years.
With the ever-evolving technology market, Stogrin realizes the importance of keeping up with the industry’s latest developments. “We are constantly furthering our education,” says Stogrin of his company, which is a member of CEDIA, an international trade association of companies that specializes in designing and installing electronic systems for the home. Stogrin is also certified from the Image Science Foundation (ISF), and Home Acoustic Alliance (HAA), training organizations dedicated toward home imaging and acoustics, as well as being a THX level-two technician. “These certifications help to assure our clients that we are established and reliable, while providing a higher level of quality and
service,” he says.
Along with continuing its education, Theory ensures that it always has the latest technology, sometimes even seeking out products that are about to come to market or haven’t reached mainstream. Take their D-Box motion chairs for instance. Theory is one of the few companies to carry and demo these innovative chairs, which are actually choreographed to move along with the film, and are set to be in theatres within a few years.
Theory also offers the only truly retrofitable home automation system from Lagotek that uses an emerging low-cost technology called Z-Wave to replace the control wires of most other systems. The system requires about 20 to 30 minutes of training once installed, and offers huge energy savings, allowing the system to pay for itself over time. “The beauty of our system is that we can offer everything that mainstream home automation systems offer for less than a tenth of the cost,” he says. “This brings home automation to an affordable level and allows anyone to enjoy the benefits, not just the ultra-wealthy.”
With cutting-edge equipment, years of experience and remarkable vision, Theory leaves a lasting impression on each and every one of its clients. “For us, it’s beyond work,” says Stogrin. “We’re creating an experience for people that they’ll never forget.”
