“This luxury limousines characteristics will blow your socks off, which is fine, since you’ll be that comfortable anyway.”
Carlsson Aigner CK65 RS Blanchimont: Licence to Thrill
If James Bond retired, he’d be chauffeured around in this. While the Carlsson Aigner CK65 RS Blanchimont might not have heat-seeking missiles, you can bet your buns it’s got a list of treasures longer than its name. The luxury limousine has characteristics that will blow your socks off, which is fine, since you’ll probably be that comfortable anyway.
At first glance, the two-toned, painted automobile reminds you of a cross between an S Class Mercedes and a Maybach. The 21-inch forged aluminum wheels are 40 per cent lighter than conventional rims, increasing maneuverability and overall driving comfort. Four tailpipes make up a robust double dual-exhaust, while aerodynamic carbon fibre – a material usually used in the aerospace industry – adorns the body. But that’s not all that makes this luxe automobile special.
Stepping into the rear cabin, you know that anybody who’s somebody has got to have one of these. This is the only limo in the world that’s teamed up with lush leather brand Etienne Aigner to fashion its interior. With 30 colour schemes available, it just might take longer to pick the combination than the two weeks it takes to hand-install it.
Now let’s say Mr. Bond is in the mood for a martini, shaken not stirred, of course. Hinged tables are available behind the front seats to rest your glass. Or if 007 wants to know who the latest international bad guys are, a router enables up to three laptops to use a wireless Internet connection, which even works outside the car. And if he just feels like kicking back, a 15-inch monitor paired with two smaller screens allows you to catch a flick, complete with 3,000-watt Dolby surround sound.
But what if the notorious MI6 agent just happens to find himself in another high-speed pursuit? Don’t let the term limo fool you. The 705-horsepower, V-12 engine lets this monster-of-a-luxury-car jump from 0 – 100 kilometres an hour in a whopping 3.9 seconds. “The Blanchimont is the most powerful luxury limousine in the world,” admits Markus Schuster, C.E.O. of Carlsson Autotechnik. While a car chase can get a little messy, don’t plan on spilling your drink. Suspension automatically readjusts to road conditions, preserving overall driving comfort.
If you’re interested in investing in these lavish wheels, you’ll probably have to pull a few strings. The German-made Blanchimont is part of a small series limited to 30 cars worldwide.
