History
The saga of Dolce Vita Magazine began in 1996, with the vision of Fernando Zerillo and his sister, Michelle Zerillo-Sosa. Michelle’s recognition of the need for a luxury lifestyle magazine, combined with Fernando’s creative concepts, led to the development of the first issue of Dolce. It’s first copy, geared at targeting affluent readers, was just over a dozen black and white pages. “To hold a copy of Dolce today is still an incredible feeling,” says Fernando Zerillo, co-founder and Creative Director of Dolce Publishing.
Within five years, interest in the publication increased, and sales began to soar. It quickly grew from just under 15,000 copies, to over 290,000 colour copies annually, sold across Canada and the United States. “With a multitude of Canadians travelling and living across the border,” remarks Zerillo, “our publication eventually tapped into many of the luxury brands that come from there.” Dolce Vita Magazine successfully evolved from being a community magazine to becoming a well-respected, nationally recognized, luxury lifestyle publication.
